Col. John Randolph Lane Society
Cartersville Crossroads

Named for a mid-19th century community where Chatham County men once gathered before marching to war, Cartersville Crossroads is an historical journal focusing on the Confederate period of our local history. The journal was recognized in 2001 by the North Carolina Society of Historians with its Claude Hunter Moore Journal Award.

The eight- to 12-page journal publishes original articles and short remembrances written by society members, local documents relating to the war that shed light on the conflict in Chatham County and occasional articles reprinted, with permission, from other sources.

Submissions are welcomed and may be sent to the society for review at any time. The semiannual journal currently is published in the spring and fall, though the publication schedule may change.

Some articles published in the journal are available on the Lane Society web site. For a list of recent journal articles available on line, click here.
